The Totus Tuus parish summer youth program, a week-long “parish mission” for Catholic youth entering 1st through 12th grades, is dedicated to proclamation of the Gospel and promoting the Catholic faith through evangelization, catechesis, apologetics, Christian witness, the sacraments, Marian devotion, and Eucharistic worship. Totus Tuus accomplishes this by using college students and seminarians to engage the youth of the parish with skits, songs, games and inspiring, interactive teaching. Totus Tuus instructs young people in the basic teachings of the Catholic faith to cultivate both a firm intellectual grounding and a solid personal relationship with Christ.
These dynamic evenings combine hilarious community-building games with thought-provoking testimonials and teachings to help you grow in faith and friendship with God. Teens can experience the Sacraments and have a blast with new and old friends (with lots of great food, of course!).
Totus Tuus, a Latin phrase which means “Totally Yours,” was the motto of Venerable Pope John Paul II. Taken from St. Louis de Montfort’s work, True Devotion to Mary, it signifies our desire to give ourselves entirely to Jesus Christ through the hands of our Blessed Mother Mary. It also expresses our effort to give all that we have to every young person we encounter. Totus Tuus seeks to inspire in young people a true longing for holiness, a deep desire for daily conversion, and openness to their vocation by challenging them to give themselves entirely to Jesus Christ through Mary and by continually strengthening their prayer lives in imitation of Her.
The Totus Tuus program has divided the four pillars of the Catechism of the Catholic Church into a six year cycle. Additionally, each summer is dedicated to the mysteries of the Rosary.
In the youth program, we play games, read books,do activities and crafts, have snacks and play groundtime. We celebrate Mass together, learn about Adoration and go to Confession.
In the teen program, we start the evening with fun games like octaball or shaving cream baseball, then come together to focus a topic, then have fellowship with pizza, tacos or other good foods.
